The Cornish Oven

Established in 1999, The Cornish Oven, a locals favourite sold pasties and cakes through mobile vans and easy to get to take away shops around Cornwall. They approached Absolute to look at their brand from the inside out and following a brand workshop we developed their identity and story. From this we were tasked with designing the interiors for their first Café location in Newquay.

Solution

Taking inspiration from their story – where pasties are made by hand and baked by their friendly team in store. Our inspiration came from the heart of the home is the kitchen and designed the counter with details you would find in a traditional kitchen. The ovens being the centre focus. Tongue and groove textures with picture rail details, neutral paint colours, herringbone flooring all give subtle nods to tradition and a warm, welcoming vibe. A feature wall of rolling pins offers a talking point. 

Results

The clients love their new café and have really embraced their new brand at every level. Plans to expand their shops is now in progress and we look forward to working with them long term.
