Cornwall Airport is a fast growing but small regional airport operating flights to UK cities alongside European holiday destinations. With only one terminal, business commuters mingle with locals going on holiday and visitors to the county returning home.
The objective of this project is to enhance the experience of every passenger, foster engagement and connection with customers, and create an environment that is fitting for its location, while also ensuring a positive and memorable impression of Cornwall.
We wanted to establish a food and beverage and retail environment that embodies coastal inspiration. By showcasing the incredible coastal scenery that passengers witness when departing from this cliffside airport, we recommended a tranquil colour scheme of blues to create a lovely ombre effect, along with natural materials that enhance the airport’s offerings.
- Ambient lighting should be considered alongside task lighting to enhance and zone different spaces.
- Clean, versitile visual merchandising to enhance the retail offering and give a more considered, contemporary feel
Between launch in June to January 2025 average spend per passenger on Food & Beverage rose by 22%. Considering in this time the route to F&B from security was the furthest away (the new security entrance behind the banquet seats only opened in February 2025).
