Absolute’s Creative Director Helen here – I just wanted to update you on some the exciting happenings in and around our Cornish studio as we fire through a tonne of awesome work for our amazing clients.

Firstly we are absolutely over the moon to say that, after a quite literally fab night in the Big Smoke, we have been awarded a FAB award in the ‘Interiors & Retail Environment’ category for our ongoing work with the strategic brand evolution of the delicious Cornish Bakery!

Over the last few years we have been working with founder Steve Grocutt and his team to drive forward their ambitious business plan, providing a ‘Cornwall State of Mind’ right across the UK. With 4 new bakery openings following the rebrand and fit out of all 29 properties, as well as the highest reported operating profit percentage ever for the business in 2015, and following our Design Business Association (DBA) Gold Award in February, I think Steve would join me in safely saying we’re delivering that. And everyone in the studio is having a divine time ‘researching’ all of the Cornish Bakery’s stunning produce!

With so many other client brand and interior projects on ‘full pelt’ ahead, I’m delighted (and somewhat relieved) to welcome two brilliant new graphic designers to the studio.   Bilingual Ottilia (Tilly) Aviram joins us as Graphic Designer bringing with her excellent communication skills, an instinct for organising people as well as her thoughts. She undoubtedly has a flair for great design, as shown by a fantastic range of award-winning work previous for clients like Red Bull, Coca-Cola and Hippodrome Casino.

Lauren Hood has also made her way to Truro, joining us as Junior Graphic Designer after a stint freelancing for innovative agency The Storytellers. Before that, Lauren had the pleasure of driving brand and graphics for clients such as Brand Brewery, Hive Health and Saatchi & Saatchi Healthcare, all of whom both added to her expertise and benefitted from her talent and passion.

We’re super excited to have this hot-to-trot talent with us in Cornwall and both ladies will be working under my ongoing creative direction on all things design. We’re looking forward to introducing them to you as soon as possible.

With so much happening on the brand side of our everyday work, we’re also ‘beefing up’ the role of Charlotte Strachan who will be taking over the account management of our design clients. You may already know vivacious Charlotte who has been with us for 2 years, managing our mammoth interiors work right across the country with J D Wetherspoon. However, as Charlotte comes from a London background of brand management and advertising with clients like Bristol Airport and Crest Nicholson, she’s been seriously keen to be working across our extensive graphics portfolio.

So as of now she’s taking the reins with all our brand design clients as I’m sad to say that organisational queen Cassie is departing from our Absolute shores to continue her onwards journey. Also Ria who has been an absolute stalwart in our finance team is leaving to follow her deep passion for sums with an accountancy practice.

Both Cassie and Ria have been total legends in their time with us at Absolute and we’ll be giving them both an Absolutely Fabulous Friday send off on their last day with us today.

So to quote the Sugababes, it really is a case of ‘here come (and go) the girls’ and I want to say a mammoth thanks to all of my team, old and brand spanking new, for everything they’ve been doing, and everything they will be doing. Without them we wouldn’t be able to achieve what we achieve for you and your teams, day-after-day.

Thank you all and have a belter of a weekend!

Helen (off to have an absolutely fabulous Friday glass of bubbles!)
