Absolute – the only South West winner yet again!
The team at Cornwall’s leading design agency, are celebrating with milkshakes thanks to the news that they have been awarded a prestigious silver Design Effectiveness Award for their work with valued client Trewithen Dairy.

Run by the highly-respected Design Business Association (DBA) the annual Design Effectiveness Awards recognise the return on investment that a coherent, well-thought-out and professionally executed design strategy can achieve. Judged by business leaders and entered jointly by client and designer, the DBA Design Effectiveness Awards are both rigorous and authoritative and celebrate the power of design to drive business success and provide compelling proof of why design is a sound commercial investment.

This is Absolute’s fourth award having also received accolades in 2008, 2009 and 2011 and yet another major design recognition for the admired Trewithen Dairy brand which also recently won The Grocer magazine’s Best New Product award and received a bronze award at the 2013 European Design Awards. Absolute reviewed the company, the products, the brand, the customers and the buyer’s attitudes from top-to-bottom as well as highly recommending a detailed customer research strategy. The creative team then brought the brand’s product range together with cohesive illustration, styling and tone of voice.

The commercial impact has been instant and staggering; within less than a year, Trewithen had added over £400,000 in new listings and over £4 million in additional turnover. Trewithen products will shortly be listed in all four of its major supermarket targets as well as gaining hundreds of new hospitality and retail customers in Cornwall and the surrounding South West counties.

The client: “The new brand really sets out who we are, what we stand for and what we deliver. Working with Absolute has been really rewarding and the team there are continually pushing us to think carefully about what our brand is, what it delivers and why we are doing things the way we are. That polite pushing is exactly what we need and the DBA award is obviously testament to all of this.”
